The deadline for candidates in Orange County to file for three offices in June’s primary has been extended until Wednesday, officials said Saturday.
Friday was the original deadline for individuals interested in running on the June 2 ballot. The deadline was extended until 5 p.m. on Wednesday for the following three offices because an eligible incumbent did not file:
— U.S. Congress, 38th District;
— Assembly, 68th District;
— Assembly, 72nd District.
Incumbents are no longer eligible to be placed on the ballot for those offices because they failed to file nomination papers for the office by the original March 6 deadline, according to the Orange County Registrar of Voters.
Candidacy documents will be available Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Registrar of Voters, 1300 S. Grand Ave., Building C in Santa Ana.
Detailed information about the filing process can be found at ocvote.gov/candidates.
