Overnight closures are scheduled beginning Tuesday evening and continuing Wednesday night on the eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway in Irwindale.
The closures will take place on the 210 near the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway on Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 p.m. each night to 6 a.m. the following morning as Caltrans continues to make roadway surface repairs.
“Last week, Caltrans crews performed daytime work at this location to conduct urgent repairs due to a dip in the roadway surface,” according to a Caltrans statement that indicated numerous drivers had complained about the conditions.
Some of the repairs involved drilling below the roadway surface and injecting polyurethane, which had to be done during daylight hours because the material would not cure at nighttime temperatures.
“The remaining repairs require shallower drilling, allowing work to be conducted overnight this week,” according to Caltrans, which said additional work nights may be required.
Motorists were urged to use alternate routes.
