One person was arrested and 22 others were cited at a DUI checkpoint in Palm Desert this weekend.

The DUI checkpoint was held at Highway 111 and Deep Canyon Drive from 7 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday.

During that time, one person was arrested for DUI, another was cited for driving on a suspended license, 10 were cited for being unlicensed drivers, and 11 more were cited for miscellaneous traffic violations, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

A total of 1,171 vehicles were contacted, with 464 vehicles subjected to secondary screenings, according to the department. Six field sobriety tests conducted.
