A groundbreaking ceremony was scheduled Friday to mark the start of construction on a county fire station in Valencia.
Los Angeles County Fire Department Deputy Chief Jon O’Brien and Supervisor Kathryn Barger, whose Fifth District includes Valencia, planned to be on hand for Friday morning’s ceremony heralding work on Fire Station 46.
The station being constructed at 26720 Bombero Lane, on the southeast corner of Bombero and Westridge Parkway, will improve public safety and emergency response times throughout the community, according to the fire department.
