An at-risk 83-year-old man who went missing in Long Beach, triggering a Silver Alert, has been located, authorities said Tuesday.
Luther Washington was located Monday by police in the city of Los Angeles and reunited with his family, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
Washington had last been seen at approximately 11 a.m. Monday near Atlantic Avenue and Villa Park, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the LBPD.
The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
