Authorities Tuesday identified a 49-year-old woman who was killed in a crash in Los Angeles’ Harvard Heights neighborhood caused by an allegedly impaired driver.
The woman was identified Tuesday by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as Alverta Dunbar, who sustained blunt trauma.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a motorist initially rear-ended another vehicle around 12:40 a.m. Monday on West Gage Avenue at Vermont Avenue. The man then continued driving west on Gage until he struck a white car driven by Dunbar at Normandie Avenue, the spokesman said.
Police said the man who struck the vehicles was possibly under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. It was unclear if he was arrested.
