A man was injured Monday in a fire at a duplex in the Central-Alameda area of Los Angeles.
The fire was reported at a two-story duplex at 1556 E. 51st St., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The first-arriving units encountered smoke coming from the first floor of the structure.
Thirty-eight firefighters responded and put the fire down in 13 minutes, LAFD spokeswoman Jennifer Middleton said.
Some contents had caught fire in a first-floor unit and crews kept the flames from spreading any further, she said.
Middleton said one man was taken to a hospital in fair condition with unspecified injuries suffered in the fire.
The cause of the blaze was under investigation, she said.
