A hiker suffered possible heat exhaustion Friday on a trail encompassing Diamond Valley Lake south of Hemet, requiring medical assistance from firefighters.
The trail emergency was reported at 1:40 p.m. Friday in the area of Lyon Avenue and Diamond Valley Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency stated the victim called 911 complaining of immobility stemming from heat-related cramping. High temperatures reached to the mid-90s in the area on Friday.
Firefighters went to the location to search for the victim, and while en route to that call, they received a second call of a trekker who reportedly fainted on or near the same trail.
Crews initiated a search in connection with the separate incidents just after 2 p.m.
As of 2:30 p.m., firefighters were still making their way to the victims, whose identities were not disclosed.
