Authorities Monday identified a San Bernardino man killed when his Chevrolet Express van crashed into a parked big rig on the southbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Industry.
The crash — reported at 5:47 a.m. Sunday — happened just north of the Valley Boulevard offramp, according to California Highway Patrol Officer D. Parsons.
Berhanie Keflom, 32, died at the scene, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter.
“For unknown reasons the Chevrolet veered towards a gore point to the right where a tractor trailer was parked within the gore point,” Parsons said. “The Chevrolet subsequently struck the left rear of the trailer.”
