It took 37 Los Angeles firefighters on the land and sea 50 minutes to put out a fire in a docked fishing trawler, authorities said Sunday.
The blaze was inside the engine room of the 70-foot fishing trawler Cape Blanco, which was taking on water, Humphrey said.
Firefighters managed to keep the vessel afloat by pumping out the water, he said.
It was reported at 9:01 p.m. Saturday at 799 Tuna Street, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
There were no injuries, and officials did not speculate about a cause of the blaze.
