El Monte police Thursday sought public help to find a man with an eagle tattooed on his face and woman — each armed with a handgun — who robbed a convenience store over the weekend.

The holdup occurred about 12:10 a.m. Sunday at the Circle K store at 5202 Peck Road, said El Monte police Sgt. Roger Cobian.

The man, holding a handgun, demanded money from the clerk, while the woman pointed a handgun at customers and refused to allow them to leave, Cobian said. The pair then fled with cash.

“Both suspects are considered armed and dangerous,” Cobian said.

Police circulated security photos of the suspects, who both wore hooded sweatshirts.

The man was described as Hispanic, about 35 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds, with a mustache and an eagle tattoo on the right side of his face.

The woman was described as Hispanic, about 18 years old, 5 feet 3 inches tall, and weighing about 120 pounds.

Anyone with information on the crime was urged to call (626) 580-2114; or submit tips via email at tips@empd.org.
