A motorcyclist killed in a collision with a car in Irvine was identified Tuesday as an 18-year-old Irvine resident who attended Orange Coast College.

Colin Halleland was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred about 5:45 p.m. Monday at San Remo and Paseo Westpark, according to Kim Mohr of the Irvine Police Department.

The woman behind the wheel of the car escaped injury, Mohr said.

Paseo Westpark remains closed between Alton and Barranca to accommodate the crash investigation, but is expected to reopen by 12:30 p.m.
