Upon hearing that Vanessa Trump had filed for divorce from the president’s oldest son and namesake, Charlotte Clymer said: “I only care about this because it makes me wonder how much this has to do with the Russia investigation.
Clymer, who was on Hillary Clinton’s communications team, wasn’t alone.
Donald Trump Jr., facing a special counsel subpoena of Trump Organization documents related to Russia, had little to say other than a joint statement:
“After 12 years of marriage, we have decided to go our separate ways. We will always have tremendous respect for each other and our families. We have five beautiful children together and they remain our top priority. We ask for your privacy during this time.”
But the floodgates opened on speculation that Bob Mueller’s investigation triggered the split for financial reasons.
The Sun in Britain recently profiled Vanessa Trump, 40-year-old mother of five.
Born Vanessa Kay Haydon, the actress grew up in a townhouse on the fancy Upper East Side of Manhattan, said the tabloid.
“A keen tennis player during her school days, Vanessa is said to have dated heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio when she was 20. Vanessa has Austrian, Russian and Danish heritage. Her sister, Veronika Haydon, is also a model,” the paper said.
