Police arrested a 17-year-old boy who reportedly tried to rob a Seal Beach gas station with an airsoft pistol, a police sergeant said Saturday.
The suspect entered a Unocal service station, 12071 Seal Beach Blvd., and confronted a cashier with the pistol, said Seal Beach police Sgt. Philip Gonshak.
Gonshak said the cashier gained control of the pistol during a struggle, at which time the teenager broke free and ran into a nearby Los Alamitos neighborhood.
The police sergeant said officers were dispatched at 11:58 p.m. Friday and with the assistance of a Los Alamitos police officer located the boy, who was booked at the Orange County Juvenile Hall in Orange on one charge of attempted armed robbery.
“Due to this incident involving a juvenile, no photographs or surveillance footage is available for release,” Gonshak said.
