A two-car crash in Anaheim involving an Orange County Sheriff’s Department squad car and another vehicle sent two deputies and two women to the hospital, authorities said Thursday.
The deputies were responding to a reported carjacking in Stanton around 11:40 p.m. when their patrol vehicle was struck by another vehicle at the intersection of Orange and Western Avenues in Anaheim, according to Carrie Braun of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
The deputies were going westbound on Orange Avenue and the women in the other vehicle were southbound on Western Avenue when the accident occurred, she said.
The two deputies and the two women were taken to the hospital in unknown condition, Braun said.
It’s unclear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, she said.
Anaheim police are investigating the collision.
