Officers responded at 1:15 a.m. to the 3200 block of San Fernando Boulevard and discovered the sheared hydrant and a Honda with significant front end damage a short distance away, according to the Burbank Police Department.
Burbank fire crews worked to shut off the hydrant, police said.
A field sobriety test was performed on the driver, but it was unclear whether any arrest was made.
