A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Santa Fe Springs and police searched Tuesday for the driver of the vehicle that hit him.
Police responded about 7 p.m. Monday to the area near Lakeland Road and Painter Avenue and found the victim, according to Lt. J. Tatman of the Whittier Police Department.
Investigators determined the man was walking on a sidewalk when the vehicle traveling eastbound collided with the victim, then fled the scene, Tatman said.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he later died, Tatman said.
A detailed description of the vehicle was not immediately available.
