A pedestrian apparently jumped Monday from the Garden Grove (22) Freeway onto the northbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway below and may have been struck by at least one vehicle, according to reports from the scene.
The incident was reported just before 1 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
The driver of a black Nissan truck possibly struck the pedestrian who was already down in traffic lanes, the CHP said.
Officers told a news videographer at the scene the death was a suicide.
A SigAlert was issued shutting down the Nos. 1, 2 and 3 lanes for the investigation, the CHP said. The lanes were reopened at 3:30 a.m.
The age and gender of the pedestrian was not available.
