Sharp HealthCare announced Thursday that it awarded a $5,000 sponsorship to Wreaths Across America San Diego to support forthcoming wreath-laying ceremonies at local cemeteries and Greenwood Memorial Park.
The donation, part of the Sharp Lends a Hand program to encourage involvement in local events, will support ceremonies at Fort Rosecrans and Miramar national cemeteries and Greenwood Memorial Park on Dec. 14. According to Sharp, nearly 500 employees and their family members participated in last year’s ceremonies at the three sites.
“For the third year in a row, Sharp HealthCare is proud to support Wreaths Across America San Diego,” Sharp HealthCare president and CEO Chris Howard said. “Sharp feels privileged to participate in this event that remembers and honors our veterans and their families by laying remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes.”
Wreaths Across America holds wreath-laying ceremonies each year at more than 1,500 locations in all 50 states, including at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. Information on how to volunteer, sponsor wreaths and all wreath-laying locations can be found at wreathsacrossamerica.org.
