No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway in South Los Angeles, allegedly triggered by a wrong-way motorist, authorities said.

The crash occurred at 6:05 a.m. on the westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway at South Normandie Avenue, the California Highway Patrol reported.

A white Mercedes-Benz coupe was seen driving approximately 40 miles per hour, going eastbound in the westbound lanes of the freeway, just prior to the crash, the CHP said.

The Mercedes allegedly crashed into a black vehicle that was in the slow lane.

The CHP reported at 6:17 a.m. that no one was injured and, as of 6:28 a.m., the No. 5 lane of the westbound freeway was blocked.

There was no other immediate information available.
