A pickup overturned Friday in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 74 just west of Lake Elsinore, completely blocking the corridor.
The crash was reported at 4 p.m. between the Lookout Roadhouse and South Main Divide Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The agency said the pickup and a sedan impacted, possibly head-on, causing the pickup to roll, coming to rest on its roof in the middle of the two-lane highway.
No other details were immediately available.
There were initial reports that the pickup’s occupants were trapped. However, the parties were later reported to be standing outside the truck, waiting for first responders.
It was unclear whether anyone in the car was injured.
Riverside County Fire Department personnel slowly made their way to the scene, threading through stopped traffic.
CHP officers were expected to open at least one side of the highway before 5 p.m. Friday.
