The city of Riverside will launch a pilot valet parking program next week to serve those patronizing the downtown area.

The six-month initiative will begin Jan. 16 at 5 p.m.

“This `white glove’ valet service will make it easier for patrons of restaurants, entertainment venues and downtown businesses to enjoy all that downtown Riverside has to offer,” city officials announced.

Key highlights of the program include:

— Valet drop-off and retrieval at up to nine high-traffic downtown zones, operating Fridays through Sundays from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

— A ticket-less system, requiring customers to request their vehicle and pay/tip via phone.

— Dedicated uniformed attendants.

The pilot program will be operated by ACE Parking, and tickets will be $20 per vehicle during regular service hours or $30 during special events.

The city will review program feedback at the end of the six-month pilot in June to determine if it should become a permanent service in the downtown area.

More information for patrons or businesses interested in participating in the validation program can be found at riversideca.gov/publicworks/parking/riverside-valet-parking.
