A Coachella Valley Unified School District bus driver was placed on administrative leave over unspecified allegations involving a student, officials announced Tuesday.

“Upon becoming aware of the allegations, the district took immediate action by placing the employee on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation by the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office,” according to a statement from the district.

No specifics about the nature of the investigation were provided by the district or the District Attorney’s Office. The bus driver’s name was not released.

“The Coachella Valley Unified School District does not tolerate misconduct of any kind,” according to the district. “The safety and well-being of students remain the district’s highest priority, and established procedures are followed to ensure appropriate action and compliance with the law.”
