A 28-year-old man was killed Saturday in a crash on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway in the Sawtelle area of West Los Angeles.

The crash was reported at 1:14 a.m. Saturday on the eastbound Santa Monica Freeway at Bundy Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The call originally came in as a solo vehicle crash but there were later reports other vehicles were involved, the CHP stated.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, the CHP stated.

He was later identified by the Medical Examiner’s office as Alexander St. John. His city of residence was not available.

The CHP issued a SigAlert at 1:25 a.m. for all eastbound lanes in the area. The lanes were reopened about 4:30 a.m.
