One person was killed Sunday when a Kia sedan crashed into the center divider on the Golden State (5) Freeway in Castaic.
The crash was reported at 8:20 p.m. Sunday on the northbound Golden State Freeway just north of where the northbound and southbound sides cross over, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A witness told the CHP it appeared the driver might have been impaired before the crash.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP stated. The person’s name, age and gender were not immediately released.
Video from the scene showed the dark-colored, damaged Kia sedan with a disabled license plate being loaded onto a flatbed tow truck.
