The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Wednesday for the 14th consecutive day, increasing 1.8 cents to $4.554, its highest amount since Dec. 11.

The average price has risen 19.7 cents over the past 14 days, including 1 cent on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 10.6 cents more than one week ago and 18.7 cents higher than one month ago, but 12.7 cents less than one year ago.

The average price has dropped $1.94 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price also rose for the 14th consecutive day, increasing 1.7 cents to $4.476, its highest amount since Dec. 10. It has risen 23.3 cents over the past 14 days, including 2.4 cents on Tuesday.

The Orange County average price is 11.8 cents more than one week ago and 22.7 cents higher than one month ago, but 19.7 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.983 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price rose for the eighth time in 10 days, increasing 1.6 cents to $2.937. It has risen 6.3 cents over the past 10 days, including 1.9 cents on Tuesday. It rose five consecutive days, dropped two-tenths of a cent on Saturday and one-tenth of a cent on Sunday and resumed rising on Monday.

The national average price is 5 cents more than one week ago and 14.2 cents higher than one month ago, but 20.4 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $2.079 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
