A pedestrian described as a man in his 40s was fatally struck by at least one vehicle early Thursday morning on the Hollywood (101) Freeway near Hollywood, the California Highway Patrol reported.
CHP officers were called at approximately 12:42 a.m. Thursday to the northbound freeway and Gower Street on-ramp where they found the pedestrian lying in the number four lane, a CHP spokesman told City News Service.
The victim, whose name was withheld pending positive identification and notification of his next of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was a man in his 40s, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office.
The cause of the collision was under investigation.
