Family members are asking for the public’s help in locating Rico Omarr Harris, a former member of the Harlem Globetrotters from Alhambra who went missing while driving to Seattle.

The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office said Harris, 37, left his mother’s home in Alhambra home around 1 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 10. His car was located three days later at a Yolo County park, a sheriff’s statement said.

Margaret Fernandez, Harris’s mother, said she last spoke to her son on the morning of Oct. 10, when he told her he was driving through the Sacramento area and might stop to rest and eat.

A deputy first spotted Harris’ black Nissan sedan on Oct. 13 about 60 miles northwest of Sacramento at the Yolo County Regional Parks Lower Site on State Route 16, according to the statement. Harris was not in it. The car was still there the next day.

Harris is reported to have been moving to Seattle to be with his girlfriend, Jennifer Song, and start a new job. Anyone who sees Harris, who is 6 feet 9 and about 300 pounds, is urged to contact the authorities.
