Authorities Monday publicly identified a 14-year-old boy who was fatally shot while sitting on the front porch of his Compton home.
Jose Avila was shot at 9:35 p.m. Saturday in the 14600 block of South Keene Avenue. He died at a hospital, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter.
