
A stolen vehicle located in Rowland Heights led to the arrests of a man and a woman from Downey on drug possession and identity theft charges, authorities reported Monday.
A deputy located the vehicle on Thursday afternoon at a Motel 6 parking lot in the 18900 block of Labin Court, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Inside, she found 44-year-old Julius Depayne. The deputy called for backup and the second suspect, 54-year-old Damaris Yanez, was found in a hotel room, the sheriff’s department reported.
A search of the vehicle turned up two BB guns with their orange tips painted black, a SWAT team tactical vest, about 10 grams of methamphetamine, three pipes containing methamphetamine, two vehicle burglary tools, numerous altered keys, two paper car license plates, hypodermic needles, credit cards in other people’s names, stolen checks, nine cellphones, jewelry, two women’s watches, stolen mail and a stolen car stereo.
Both Depayne and Yanez were arrested on suspicion of identity theft, possession of methamphetamine, receiving stolen property and using a vehicle without the owner’s consent.
