A man’s death in a Torrance YMCA parking lot has been confirmed as a suicide, police said.
Officers and firefighters responded about 12:30 p.m. Thursday to the Torrance-South Bay YMCA in the 2900 block of Sepulveda Boulevard on a report of a man down in the parking lot, according to Torrance police Sgt. Ronald Harris.
“At the conclusion of the investigation, it was determined to be a suicide,” Harris said.
The man’s age and place of residence were unavailable.
The manner of his death was not disclosed. There was no word from authorities of the man’s background, nor why he took such an action.
No information was available about anyone who may have witnessed the suicide.
