Swiftwater rescuers using a boat pulled the approximately 30-year-old man from the river in the area of the Fletcher Drive bridge, Bastman said.

The man was evaluated at the scene, Bastman said.

It was unclear how ended up in the river, which was rushing with rainwater from a winter storm.
