A man was fatally wounded in a shooting Saturday in the unincorporated Los Angeles County community of Willowbrook.
The shooting occurred at 7:13 a.m. at the intersection of East 118th Street and Willowbrook Avenue, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau reported.
The victim was rushed to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
It was not immediately known if the shooting was connected with a car plowing through some fencing near Watts, at 117th and Alameda streets, at 7:14 a.m., which forced the closure of Metro trains in both directions.
The sheriff’s Homicide Bureau asked anyone with information regarding the shooting to call them at 323-890-5500.
