A man was killed in what authorities say was an apparent gang-related shooting outside his residence in Montecito Heights, and authorities Tuesday were looking for the gunman.
The man was shot at about 9:10 p.m. Monday in the 3800 block of Monterey Road and died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Authorities withheld the name of the fatally wounded man, who was in his 30s, pending notification of his relatives.
“Preliminary investigation revealed the victim was standing in the carport area of his apartment complex when a male suspect approached and shot him multiple times,” an LAPD statement said.
No description was available of the suspect. Anyone with information on the crime was urged to call 877-LAPD-247.
