A bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle near Gorman, authorities said Thursday.
California Highway Patrol officers responded about 11:06 pm. Wednesday to the northbound Antelope Valley Freeway (14) and West Avenue C where they found the bicyclist, CHP Officer Patrick Kimball told City News Service.
Witnesses said officers found the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, lying on the right side of the freeway.
CHP officers closed all lanes of the freeway for several hours while they investigated the crash.
