A man was shot to death while driving in his vehicle in the Vermont-Slauson area of Los Angeles, authorities said Monday.

The shooting was reported at 10:42 p.m. Sunday at 66th Street and Estrella Avenue, according to Officer D. Orris of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.

A male and female got out of a vehicle and shot at the man while he was driving, Orris said. They got back in their vehicle and left the scene. Their ages were not known.

The victim, described as between 30 and 40 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene, he said. The man’s name was not released pending notification of relatives.
