A 28-year-old man was shot and killed Tuesday in the downtown Los Angeles area, and an investigation was underway.
The shooting was reported at about 5:45 a.m. in the 700 block of Crocker Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The wounded man died at the scene, police said.
He was later identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as Ariel Cervantes.
No arrests were reported, and no suspect information was immediately available. Anyone with information on the case was urged to call 877-LAPD-247.
