Authorities seized 17 firearms and ammunition from a Jurupa Valley home, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department announced Sunday.

Deputies from the sheriff’s Jurupa Valley station responded to the area of Pats Ranch Road and Limonite Avenue around 1 p.m. Friday to a report of a disturbance, the department said.

During their investigation, deputies learned that a 31-year-old suspect identified as Yorgan Rios allegedly pointed a firearm at a victim during a dispute, then fled the area in a black SUV.

Rios was later found in his vehicle and deputies conducted a high-risk stop. Rios was detained and found to be in possession of ammunition, but no firearm, according to the sheriff’s department.

Deputies obtained a search warrant for Rios’ residence in the 11000 block of Dane Drive to search for the firearm. A total of 17 firearms, ammunition and other evidence related to the alleged assault were found and seized by deputies, authorities said.

Rios was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. He was being held on $25,000 bail.

Anyone with additional information about the case was encouraged to contact Deputy Abigail Grieve at 951-955-2600.
