A wrong-way driver fatally struck a man riding a bicycle in a hit-and-run collision in the Florence-Graham area of South Los Angeles, authorities said Wednesday.
The collision was reported at 1:04 a.m. to 7927 Alameda St. near Broadway where police found the man in the roadway, CHP Officer Sean Lough told City News Service.
Los Angeles County Fire personnel were called and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The driver drove onto the sidewalk before striking the victim and left without rendering aid.
“We are treating this as a hit and run,” Lough said.
There was no vehicle or suspect description.
