Officers recovered a handgun and a suspect was arrested during a routine traffic stop in Long Beach, authorities said Saturday.
The stop occurred at about 5:40 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Lemon Street and 19th Street, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
“During the investigation, officers recovered a firearm,” police said in a statement. “The suspect, who was determined to be a prohibited possessor, was arrested. The investigation is ongoing.”
