Police Friday are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was fatally struck in Cypress Park.
Los Angeles Police Department officers were called at 11:34 p.m. Thursday to 487 W. Ave. 26 and Figueroa Street, north of the Harbor (110) Freeway, where they found the pedestrian in the roadway, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.
The pedestrian — whose name, age or gender was not immediately known — was taken to a hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, where the victim was pronounced dead.
The driver of the sedan that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, the LAPD spokesman said.
LAPD’s Central Traffic Division is investigating the cause of the collision.
