A 3-year-old girl died Saturday in a residential neighborhood of Lancaster and sheriff’s homicide detectives were investigating.
The death was reported about 7:20 a.m. Saturday as a “child not breathing” in the 44700 block of Stanridge Avenue south of Lancaster Boulevard, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department statement.
Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics pronounced the girl dead at the scene, sheriff’s officials said.
The cause of the child’s death was not known, sheriff’s officials said. Homicide investigators routinely get involved in death investigations when the cause is not known.
