A shooting suspect was taken into custody Sunday after a pursuit resulted in a crash in Boyle Heights.

The chase started just after 4 p.m. Sunday in the 3600 block of East Olympic Boulevard, south of the Golden State (5) Freeway according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Around 5:30 p.m., the suspect’s vehicle collided with another car near the Fourth Street overpass of the Hollywood (101) Freeway, a little over a mile away from where the pursuit originated, ABC7 reported.

Two people injured in the crash were transported to a local hospital in an unknown condition, according to the report.

Police said a suspect was in custody, but could provide no details on injuries. There was also no information forthcoming about the shooting that prompted the chase, or whether anyone had been hurt as a result. It was further unclear whether any weapons were recovered from the suspect.
