A 59-year-old woman diagnosed with diabetes and memory problems who was last being seen in South Los Angeles remains missing Sunday, authorities said.
Maria Vanessa Ordenana Lopez was last seen Saturday morning near the 600 block of West 98th Street between Figueroa and Hoover streets, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. A neighbor told relatives she was walking west toward Figueroa.
Lopez is not familiar with the surrounding area, never leaves her home alone and does not know how to find her way back home, police said.
She is Hispanic, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, 160 pounds, with auburn hair and black eyes. Lopez was last seen wearing a red jacket, gray pants, blue shoes and carrying an empty plastic shopping bag.
Anyone with information about Lopez’s whereabouts was urged to call the Los Angeles Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit at 213-996-1800 or 877-527-3247 after hours.
