Police sought the public’s assistance Wednesday in identifying dozens of people suspected of participating in a retail burglary last week in Santa Monica.

Officers responded to The RealReal vintage and consignment clothing store in the 200 block of 26th Street, where witnesses reported the sound of breaking glass in the area, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.

Police said a group of suspects had shattered the store’s front glass door and gone inside.

“Once inside, the suspects broke multiple display cases and removed a large quantity of high-end merchandise before fleeing the scene,” police said in a statement.

Investigators determined that more than a dozen individuals had participated in the retail burglary. Witnesses reported that several getaway vehicles were present, all with their license plates removed.

The business sustained an unspecified massive loss of high-end merchandise, which is still being assessed by investigators, police said.

Anyone with additional information was urged to contact Detective Lawrence Kayondo at Lawrence.Kayondo@santamonica.gov or the watch commander at 310-458-8427.
