An argument between neighbors over loud music led to a shooting in Burbank that left one man wounded and another under arrest, police said Tuesday.

The victim himself reported around 11:10 p.m. Monday that he had been shot in the 800 block of North Reese Place, between Chandler and Burbank boulevards.

“Upon arrival, officers located a 33-year-old male victim seated on the curb with a single gunshot wound to his leg,” said Burbank police spokesman Lt. Brent Fekety. “Paramedics transported the victim to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, where he was treated for a non-life-threatening injury and remains in stable condition.”

Preliminary findings showed, “the shooting stemmed from an ongoing neighborhood dispute over loud music.,” Fekety said.

“According to statements from the involved parties, the suspect exited his home to confront two men about the noise coming from a parked vehicle,” Fekety said. “During the interaction, a single gunshot was fired, striking one of the men in the leg.”

Detectives responded to continue the investigation and recovered the gun believed to have been used in the shooting.

Investigators subsequently arrested 37-year-old Eric Renato Sosa of Burbank, who was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

Sosa was being held in lieu of $30,000 bail, police said.

Anyone with information that could aid in the ongoing investigation was urged to call the Burbank Police Department Investigations Division at 818-238-3210.
