Menifee police issued citations to 14 drivers during a DUI and drivers license checkpoint, authorities said Monday.
The checkpoint was held from 7 p.m. Saturday through 2 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Scott and Lindenberger roads, according to the Menifee Police Department.
The agency said seven people were cited for allegedly operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended or revoked license, and seven additional drivers were cited for various other moving violations.
The location was based on a history of crashes and DUI arrests.
“The Menifee Police Department is committed to preventing, deterring, and arresting impaired drivers in Menifee and it will continue to be a top priority,” police said.
Funding for the checkpoint was provided by the California Highway Patrol Cannabis Grant.
