A 58-year-old motorcycle rider who was killed in a collision on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Norwalk was identified Monday.
The crash, which also involved a big rig, was reported at about 9 a.m. Wednesday on the northbound side of the freeway at Firestone Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The rider died at the scene, a CHP officer said. He was identified Monday by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as Shawn Chavez, who sustained multiple blunt traumatic injuries.
