One person was killed Wednesday in a multi-vehicle collision on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway in the Mid-City neighborhood of Los Angeles.
California Highway Patrol officers were called at 1:56 a.m. to the eastbound freeway and South La Brea Avenue exit where they found a silver Honda Civic and dark colored Infinity collided in the middle lanes of the freeway, CHP Officer Megan Curtis told City News Service.
The victim- whose name, age and gender were not immediately known was pronounced dead at the scene.
The CHP issued a SigAlert, which initially closed all lanes of the eastbound freeway was extended until 6:30 a.m. while they investigated the cause of the crash. Some lanes are now open, but traffic is backed up.
The condition of the other driver is not known.
