A person was found dead Wednesday along a Santa Clarita street, the apparent victim of a hit-and-run driver.
Deputies from the sheriff’s Santa Clarita Valley station responded shortly before 10 a.m. to the area of Needham Ranch Road and Sierra Highway on reports of a fatal traffic collision, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and sheriff’s officials said the death was being investigated as a hit-and-run.
It remains unclear what led up to the collision, and there was no description of a suspect or the vehicle involved in the fatal crash.
